InGeNA lent its support to a successful MRFF Genomic Health Futures Mission grant application entitled “Pathways to benefit for Indigenous Australians in Genomics Medicine”.

The project is by an ANU team headed by Professor Alex Brown to establish a national network of Indigenous Genomics Centres of Excellence to ensure that Indigenous Australians benefit equitably from advancements in genomics, and to inspire indigenous leadership in genomics.

It aims to address current inequities in who receives the most benefit from genomics technologies in Australia. Key investigators have stated that industry partnerships will be essential to the success of the project.
