Congratulations to Omico on the launch of their 10 Year Impact Report

It was a privilege to attend the launch of Omico’s 10-Year Impact Report at Parliament House, received by Minister Mark Butler, MP.
The outcomes are nothing short of extraordinary. As the Minister put it, the distance we’ve travelled in such a short time is “jaw-dropping.” And now, it’s time to scale and mainstream because we are in a turbocharged era of genomics.
We’ve shared our strategies to make that happen. Encouragingly, the message from government was clear: they are committed to mainstreaming genomics and precision oncology.
One moment that will stay with me was hearing from Emily Lahey, a rare cancer advocate and patient who said CGP “gives me time to live and build a life I never thought I would have.” These are the stories that move decision-makers- and rightly so.
The human impact is powerful. The economic case is compelling. It’s a virtuous cycle and it’s time to accelerate.
Congratulations to David Thomas, Ian Black, and the entire Omico team on 10 years of incredible impact.
