In August 2024, the Australian genomics community came together for an exciting and productive series of events hosted by the Industry Genomics Network Alliance (InGeNA). From meaningful discussions at our member meeting to an informal rooftop gathering in Sydney, the month was filled with collaboration, connection, and forward-thinking discussions about the future of genomics.

Member Meeting Highlights

On 21 August 2024, InGeNA convened members to share updates on our evolving priorities. A key focus was the reactivation of our policy working group, an essential step to ensure genomics remains central to healthcare and industry agendas. Another exciting announcement was the co-design of an industry roadmap aimed at accelerating genomics adoption across various sectors. This roadmap will be developed collaboratively with input from members, industry leaders, and stakeholders, ensuring it is both actionable and impactful.

The meeting provided a platform for members to contribute ideas, exchange knowledge, and align on strategic initiatives that will shape the future of genomics in Australia.

Rooftop Gathering: Networking and Connection

Following the Board retreat, we were thrilled to host an informal rooftop event in Sydney. This gathering was a fantastic opportunity for members and stakeholders to connect in a relaxed setting while discussing genomics and the collective work of the InGeNA community. Conversations flowed as we reflected on shared achievements and looked ahead to the exciting opportunities on the horizon.
