AusBiotech Conference 2024
AusBiotech’s conference was a powerful showcase of the latest in genomics and precision medicine. It was a fantastic opportunity for InGeNA to connect with partners, industry leaders, and friends who share our commitment to advancing healthcare.
Key Highlights from the Week:
Precision Medicine Panel: Led by Rob McBride from Illumina, the session “Ensuring Equity of Access to Timely Diagnoses and Treatments” brought together Duncan McIntyre (Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care), Sarah Powell (Inherited Cancers Australia), and David Thomas (Omico). This impactful discussion underscored the shared goal of making precision medicine accessible while optimising health budgets. We’re excited about continued collaboration with the TA&A Division to accelerate access in genomics!
“Climbing the Mountain” Session on Genomics Acceleration: Hosted by our CEO, this panel featured Rob Batchelor (Nutromics), Tiffany Boughtwood (Australian Genomics), and Tom Lin (SpeeDx Pty Ltd), with sponsorship by Integrated DNA Technologies – thanks Marco Barsanti. This session highlighted practical steps in the journey from idea to commercialisation, equity and engagement with Indigenous communities, and the transformative power of partnerships.
the packed Cell and Gene Summit to insightful discussions on commercialisation, market access, clinical trials, and ethics. The discussions got to the heart of the issues with expert speakers and panelists. The CT session with Agnes N. from our CAG discussed going beyond the phase 1 stage, underscoring the need for more comprehensive trials across all phases within Australia.
