The first Childhood Dementia Day will be held on 22 September, organised by the Childhood Dementia Initiative. The Initiative also recently announced a newly appointed Scientific and Medical Advisory Committee. “It comprises 8 of Australia’s best and brightest leaders, researchers, academics and clinicians who will help guide the strategy to urgently disrupt the impact of childhood dementia. This is a world-first milestone. A committee of this calibre has never before come together to accelerate solutions for children with dementia,” says the Initiative.
Childhood dementia is a recognised, albeit little known group of disorders, comprised of more than 70 individual genetic conditions.
